Overview of summer workshopsCreative minds are fueled by an innate curiosity, plenty of “what ifs” and “why nots”, energy and soulfulness. Their creativity flows in a special rhythm, with ups and downs that – inevitably – need refreshing. That is when artists go seek inspiration, away from daily routine, worries and – nowadays – pandemic. That is also why many artists of all walks of life, origin, location or age choose to sign up to the summer workshops at the Burren College of Art. Why? Because in their welcoming studios, artists have the opportunity to re-source and re-charge their inspiration: immersed in the Burren landscape, surrounded by creative, like-minded peers, guided by experienced tutors, nourished with tasty, home-cooked meals, experimenting with new media and focused.
For five days, during our May or August workshops, artists can choose to paint with Conor McGrady or Trevor Geoghegan; draw with prof Timothy Emlyn Jones, Miriam de Burca or Ida Mitrani; take stunning photographs with Ruby Wallis or make wonderfully unique books with Eilis Murphy.
“It’s a truly wonderful experience – a past participant said after finishing a week of painting. It has opened doors in my soul that I wasn’t aware of yet”.
